Summary: The Field Engineer will serve as engineering support for our service teams assisting on complex/highly technical or problem jobs. This role will require frequent travel to job sites throughout a specific territory but will be based at our sales office in Eagan, MN.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Product Support - Troubleshoot issues with existing and newly installed equipment in the field and provide immediate solutions
• Work closely with engineering team, service team, local sales team and customers to help find best outcomes on installed jobs
• On site for startups on all high profile jobs for National Accounts or large/complex projects
• Review and analyze data gathered from installed equipment in order to make product improvements, utilizing our CASLink remote monitoring system
• Use mechanical building design knowledge to review applications for customers and suggest improvements in operation
• Perform 3rd party training for outside contractors on CaptiveAire products
• Provide reports to Application Engineering, R&D and manufacturing on customer feedback/challenges, quality, product improvements/issues

Required Skills:

• 0-10 yrs experience
• 4-year technical degree, in an electrical, electronics or mechanically oriented curriculum
• Hands on, technical internship/co-op experience is preferred
• Must enjoy hands on product exposure and be comfortable with electronics
• HVAC and/or electrical and field experience required
• Multi-tasking, problem solving and strong communication skills a must

Training Plan:

• 4 months shadowing field service team, with a focus on understanding the startup, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of CaptiveAire products
• 2 months with sales office to understand the design process for products
• 6 months cross training with other field  engineers and the application engineering division, including frequent travel to job sites in and out of territory, to assist service and sales divisions with more complex fieldchallenges.  This will include the development of  and selling of your services (Field  Engineer/Construction project management services) to the local sales teams.
