Job Description

Here is your opportunity to join a phenomenal team and have a high impact on the user experience of a product! As a member of the Fluke UX Team, the Staff UX Designer will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our team, products, and services. You will assist in user research, design, and validate user experiences for desktop, mobile, and instrumentation for new and existing Fluke products and services. In addition to delivering designs to engineering, we are looking for a designer with an entrepreneurial spirit who has extensive experience in early concept development and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. As a Staff Designer (above Senior, below Principal), this role requires a strategic thinker who can lead design projects, mentor designers, and drive innovation within the team. Key Responsibilities: Create digital product concepts and rapid prototypes that set the standard for quality and excellence, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. Participate in and lead ideation events across Fluke to help cultivate a culture of innovation and grow our idea funnel. Work on multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills. Mentor design staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally and enhance their design skills. Apply user-centered design principles to influence project strategy and direction, ensuring a seamless user experience. Meet project deliverables with a willingness to participate in meetings early or late in the day to accommodate global teams, demonstrating flexibility and commitment. Present best practices for UX design and user research to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Partner with project managers to develop project schedules and tasks while advocating for appropriate user research activities, ensuring timely and effective project delivery, including conducting, planning, and recruiting participants for studies. Occasionally travel to manufacturing facilities and customer sites to gather insights and ensure design solutions meet real-world needs. Always advocate for the User, Design, and Research, ensuring that user needs and perspectives are at the forefront of design decisions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Centered Design, Usability Engineering, or a related field. 15+ years of practical experience in interaction design of web and/or desktop applications and/or hardware devices. Experience leading design projects and mentoring junior designers. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Highly developed design skills, demonstrated in a portfolio of recent work. Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools and methods. Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and early concept development. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities. Preference for candidates with experience in both hardware UX and software UX interactions. Ability to clearly communicate and present new design concepts with strong verbal, written, and visual skills in both technical and non-technical manners. Other: This role offers a hybrid work schedule. For example, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Equal Opportunity Employer: Fluke and Fortive Corporation are proud to be equal opportunity employers. We value and encourage diversity and solicit applications from all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or other characteristics protected by law. Individuals who need reasonable accommodation because of a disability for any part of the employment process should ask to speak with a Human Resources representative to request accommodation. #J-18808-Ljbffr Fluke
