Job Description

Our client, a leading industrial company, is seeking a Senior HVAC Specialist to join their team. As a Senior HVAC Specialist, you will be part of the Maintenance department supporting the HVAC team. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, and have the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior HVAC Specialist

Location: San Antonio, TX

What's the Job?

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls equipment such as condenser units, pumps, air handlers, heat exchangers, other environmental changing devices, and other mechanical equipment.
• Installs, maintains temperature control system, electric valves, heat transfer equipment, ventilation, and air distribution equipment.
• Installs and replaces all types of pumps or refrigeration equipment according to prints, specifications, diagrams, or other instructions.
• Reads gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control the level of fluid pressure and distribution in systems.
• Operates various refrigeration recovery equipment in compliance with EPA guidelines.

What's Needed?

• Completion of a two-year technical college degree program for industrial refrigeration maintenance or Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in operation and maintenance in refrigeration with practical and demonstrated experience.
• Must have working knowledge of freon, boilers, compressors, motors, pumps, sheet metal, grease, oil, and belt applications.
• Be self-motivated and demonstrate skill, initiative, and judgment to make decisions and communicate these decisions with departmental supervisory for approval.
• Have basic knowledge of plant electrical AC/DC power and control systems associated with refrigeration equipment to provide support in equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration and boiler electrical components.
• Demonstrated ability to perform precision welding meeting food plant sanitary standards using MIG wire-feed, and heli-arc on stainless steel applications. Be able to perform precision cutting using a plasma torch.
