Senior Data Scientist - Biotech experience required We are seeking a Data Scientist who is passionate about leveraging unique, longitudinal, real-world datasets to enhance our drug discovery platform. In this role, you will be pivotal in designing and building models for new digital biomarkers, optimizing them for target discovery and clinical trial design. You will also focus on innovatively utilizing these biomarkers to derive clinical endpoints, measure disease progression, and stratify patient populations. Additionally, you will integrate your models, analyses, and visualizations into our data platform for use by our Clinical and Science teams. Your contributions will be instrumental in advancing our approach to scientific and clinical discoveries. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Data Science, Clinical, and Genetics teams to develop and qualify clinical endpoints, disease progression models, and patient stratification criteria using our unique longitudinal real-world data. Implement new methods and models to support clinical trial design, including patient targeting, stratification, and endpoint optimization strategies. Design and build new digital biomarkers and longitudinal phenotypes aligned with clinical endpoints to power our target discovery platform. Develop data science products such as dashboards, pipelines, and models to enhance the discovery efforts of our Science and Clinical teams. Skills and Qualifications Education : PhD or Master’s with 4+ years of experience in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience : A proven track record of leading projects through the complete data science lifecycle, from initial problem identification to data processing, analysis, modeling, and operationalizing solutions. Technical Skills : Strong proficiency in Python and modern data science frameworks (such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow), with prior experience in programming languages like Bash and R. Statistical Knowledge : Deep understanding of statistical methods (including experimental design, GLMs, mixed models, dimension reduction, and imputation) and machine learning models (such as random forests, SVM, and modern deep learning models). Biomedical Expertise : Experience developing longitudinal models on biomedical data, particularly real-world data including electronic medical records (EMRs). Computer Vision : Familiarity with developing and using computer vision models (e.g., CNNs) for biomedical data. Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive actionable insights and decision-making. Communication : Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment.
