Job Description

The Patient Care Externship offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience through participation in structured externship cohorts during fall (August), spring (January), and summer (June).

• Under the guidance of a designated RN peer mentor, externs will provide patient care for individual patients or groups, utilizing therapeutic communication, nursing processes, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
  
  
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program, have completed at least two semesters of nursing coursework, and obtain approval from their clinical instructor.
  
  
• No specific experience, skills, licensure, certification, or registration are required at the time of application.
