As a Home Delivery Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician, you will support the Home Delivery, Specialty and Adherence Pharmacies to ensure that high-risk patients receive their medications in a timely manner. The Administrative Campus is rapidly expanding with new automation being implemented, allowing the pharmacy to scale 1,500-5,000 prescriptions per day.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am - 3:30pm or 9:30am - 6:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Follow established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department.

  • Perform packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records.

  • Pursue completion of the Cleveland Clinic's School of Pharmacy Technology program in the first 12 months of employment.

  • Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging and non-sterile compounding).

  • Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations.

  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Appropriately use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.

  • Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program per the student handbook.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • A high school diploma or GED.

  • Successful completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 18 months of hire preferred.

  • Upon hire, must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).
  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 18 months.

  • Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) within 18 months.

  • Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds.

  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Six months of hospital experience.
