Job Title: Railcar Loading/Unloading Operator

Location: Port Barre, LA & Jeanerette, LA

Hours: Monday through Friday - hours may very pending on business needs

We are currently seeking a diligent and skilled Railcar Loading/Unloading Operator to join our dynamic team at our Port Barre, LA Facility . This position is key to maintaining the high standards of our feed production process.

• Travel between our Port Barre facility and Jeanerette rail location to perform loading and unloading operations as per schedule and operational requirements.
• Safely handle inbound and outbound ingredients at both facilities, ensuring accurate routing and preventing cross-contamination.
• Conduct visual inspections, sampling, and quality control tests to verify ingredient quality; promptly report any deviations from specifications to management.
• Apply seals correctly on all ports and maintain accurate documentation of seal numbers.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment, including pumps and related machinery, efficiently and safely.
• Complete and maintain detailed records, reports, and documents related to loading/unloading activities.
• Ensure all railcars are loaded to correct outage or completely unloaded before releasing them for further processing.
• Immediately report spills to the appropriate personnel and follow cleanup procedures as per company guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and operational readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas at both locations.

General Responsibilities:

• Adhere to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and operational procedures at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations across both locations.
• Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate changing operational needs and occasional overtime requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
• Previous experience in rail car loading/unloading operations preferred.
• Ability to travel between Port Barre facility and Jeanerette rail location regularly as part of the job responsibilities.
• Proficient in operating loading/unloading equipment and conducting basic maintenance tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
