Job Description

Hazleton Quarry, a division of the H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Foreman for the safe and efficient production of materials in the quarry .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Directly supervise all quarry employees
  • Training
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Performance appraisals and coaching
  • Employee recognition and discipline
  • Addressing complaints and problems
• Create a safe worksite
• Read and interpret blueprints and related documents as needed
• Record daily events in a job diary
• Schedule materials, equipment, and work for crew
• Analyze crew SIP’s to create site SIP’s
• Obtain quantities from crews and prepare for billing process with PM
• Analyze cost reports for production adjustments
• Accurately code and control onsite costs
• Conduct site meetings
• Attend E&S and Job Turnover meetings
• Communicate goals and purpose effectively
• Demonstrate by example
• Influence and enforce company values
  • Recognize misalignments with company values and culture and ensure compliance
• Understand and anticipate customers’ needs
• Communicate with customer representatives and represent the company professionally
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• Associate degree from an accredited educational institution OR 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Able to read blueprints and job-related documents
• Understand business practices within the organization and the importance of repeat business
• Basic technololgy skills including internet, email, and digital photo documentation
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Leadership and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated and organized
• Safety-focused
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• Experience in a supervisory role
• Experience with heavy equipment used in quarries
• Experience working in quarries
• MSHA or other safety certifications
