Job Overview – Nurse Practitioner (Pediatrics):

Join our client as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Queens, NY, delivering comprehensive primary care to children in foster care. This role is ideal for an experienced NP dedicated to pediatric health, providing medical evaluations, managing chronic conditions, overseeing preventative care, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient well-being.

Compensation: $82 – $84/hour

Location: Queens, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities as the Nurse Practitioner (Pediatrics):

  • Pediatric Assessments: Conduct exams, review medical history, and interpret lab results for children in foster care.
  • Preventative & Acute Care: Perform well-child visits, screenings, immunizations, and manage acute/chronic conditions.
  • Referrals & Care Coordination: Assess the need for specialists or emergency care, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Hospitalization & Follow-Up: Monitor hospitalized children and coordinate continuity of care.
  • Health Education: Provide guidance on illness prevention and pediatric wellness to caregivers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to pediatric care guidelines.

Qualifications for the Nurse Practitioner (Pediatrics):

  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Pediatrics required.
  • Licensure & Certification: Active New York State RN and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of clinical pediatric experience in a primary care, foster care, or similar pediatric setting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with AccuMed or other electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to patient safety and pediatric care excellence.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with foster care health services, trauma-informed pediatric care, and adolescent medicine preferred.
