Posted Job: Non CDL Driver with Load/Unload Job Title: Driver and Site Assistant, Mobile Pantry - part-time, mornings - 20 hours, Wednesday through Saturday 7 AM to noon. Starts at $18-$19/hr. Job Overview: This position is responsible for driving a box truck to Mobile Food Pantry sites, unloading program equipment and setting up the pantry site, assist with pantry distribution, reload truck and return to warehouse. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week. Workdays are Wednesday through Saturday. Hours are 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Starting wage is $18-$19 per hour.
Essential Functions - Safely drive box truck to and from pantry sites throughout Palm Beach County
- Set up and tear down Mobile Pantry onsite
- Assist with pantry operations and volunteers onsite
- Ensure proper food and equipment are on the truck for each shift
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure proper rotation and storing of food
- Maintain relationships with community partners
- Work to educate the community as to systemic causes and solutions to ending hunger
Education and Experience - High School Diploma/GED plus five years directly related experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Previous experience driving a truck required
- Previous warehouse experience a plus
- Previous experience working with volunteers a plus
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must have a valid FL driver license, clean driving record, and have at least one year of U.S. driving experience
- CDL not required but must be able to pass a DOT physical
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
- Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to problem solve, implement solutions, work independently
- Knowledge of applicable work environment safety rules a plus
- Basic computer knowledge, database experience a plus
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole a plus
Orientation Factors - Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs. repetitively
- Must be able to grasp and hold
- Must be able to climb, crawl, and stoop to reach material; bend at the waist; kneel or crouch for extended periods of time; reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
- Must be able to withstand extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or bending
- Must be able to withstand extended periods of working outdoors
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse groups
- Occasional after-hours work is required throughout the year.
