Job Description

• Participates in computing, adjusting and preparing medical claims and bills involving pro-rata charges for a variety of medical services and various healthcare facilities and clinics while performing other related duties as assigned.
• If any, determines and verifies charges to a variety of medical insurance plans, prepares bills to insurers and/or patients; and checks the status of a patient's medical plan for verification.

Key Responsibilities:

Office practices and procedures, arithmetic, billing methods, and procedures, operation and maintenance of common office appliance and equipment.

Minimum Experience:

• 1 year of work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform arithmetic computations, review data for accuracy, and read and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• 1 year of progressively responsible work experience which involved the computation and preparation of bills and demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures, operation of common office appliances and equipment, billing methods and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply billing regulations and policies.
