Job Description
Primoris Pipeline is currently searching for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to support one of our projects in Odessa, TX.
Primoris is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.
Duties & Responsibilities - Ensure repairs are carried out according to the manufacturer's procedures in a safe and responsible manner within the designated timeframe
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals
- Keep equipment clean, lubricated, and maintained
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions
- Troubleshoot and communicate equipment performance with mechanics
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufactures specifications and legislated regulations
- Write service reports in a timely and efficient manner
- Train and/or assist other technicians or apprentices
- Other duties as required by management
Required Qualifications - Previous experience working on an industrial site is considered an asset, but not required
- Must have experience with CAT pipelayers
- 5+ years' experience with Caterpillar equipment
- Familiarity with pipeline equipment is an asset
- Able to think logically, problem solve, and keep up with changing technology
- Familiar with parts and service manuals
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
- Organized and self-motivated
