The ideal candidate will have a solid background in litigation, with a focus on defense. They will have a proven track record of successfully representing clients in complex legal disputes and will be comfortable managing a busy caseload.

We are especially interested in those who have handled high value insurance defense, in the areas of injuries related to factories and industrialist/machine incidents.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Representing clients in court and before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue against the opposition's case.
2. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, and other court-related documents.
3. Conducting legal research and analysis to develop defense strategies and arguments.
4. Negotiating settlements to resolve disputes in favor of our clients.
5. Developing relationships with clients and working collaboratively with them to understand their objectives and achieve their goals.
6. Managing and overseeing paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring they properly prepare for upcoming cases.
7. Keeping abreast of current legislation and legal developments pertinent to the practice.
8. Participating in business development activities to attract new clients and maintain relationships with existing ones.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a litigation attorney, specifically in defense.
3. Experience handling high-value cases and a proven track record of successful outcomes.
4. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
5. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve complex legal disputes favorably.
6. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable language.
8. Ability to work independently, manage large amounts of information, and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
9. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
