Salary: $16.25 per hour

The Primary responsibility of the Cleaning Associate at Jowonio School is to maintain sanitary spaces inside our School. The goal is to keep our buildings in a clean and orderly condition where our staff and students can thrive in a healthy environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning the school as allocated by the Building & Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and following Health & Safety guidelines
• Safe use of chemicals and cleaning materials as instructed by the Building & Grounds Maintenance Manager following Health and Safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Operate cleaning machinery in cleaning soft and hard surfaces, eg. vacuum cleaners and polishers following Health & Safety guidelines
• Report any hazards, defects and any relevant factors of breakdowns of equipment that may be detrimental to safe working practices, immediately to the Building & Grounds Maintenance Manager
• Spot cleaning of spillages
• Clean Windows and Elevator, Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass, etc.
• Empty and cleaning trash bins
• Clean and sanitize toilets, bathroom fixtures and surrounds
• Mop and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces
• Replenishing janitorial supplies Schoolwide
• Secure building by checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work
• Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time

Requirements:

• Pass Background Check
• Cleaning experience
• Valid Driver's license
• Ability to utilize stairs when elevators aren't available
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted as well as bend, squat and reach as duties require
• Integrity and ability to work independently
• High school degree or equivalent

Good to have

• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Position Type: Part-Time (20-25 Hours)

Schedule: 1-6pm
