Job Title: 2nd shift Machine Operator-Painter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Painter to join our team. The shift operates from Monday to Friday, 2pm-10:30pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery to sandblast, load, and paint metal parts. This role requires at least 3 years of industrial painting experience and involves machine setup, product processing, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a joystick-controlled sandblaster to remove rust from metal parts while seated in a chair.
• Use an overhead crane to load parts onto hooks that transport them into the paint machine.
• Operate a sprayer to paint parts inside the booth.
• Perform machine setup and product processing using defined operating parameters.
• Understand and utilize Standard Specifications, SOPs, manufacturing orders, and drawings per quality and product standards.
• Execute process setups and value-add activities to meet daily production demand.
• Conduct quality checks and inspections as needed.
• Observe all company safety policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of industrial painting experience.
• Proficiency in operating sandblasters, overhead cranes, and sprayers.
• Ability to perform machine setup and maintenance.
• Understanding of Standard Specifications, SOPs, and manufacturing orders.
• Ability to conduct quality checks and inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required within a certain time of converting to permanent; company offers GED program).
• Capability to lift 50lbs+ (40lbs+ independently).
• Physical ability to walk, sit, and reach for extended periods.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
