Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing or working for contractors and will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of operations, including litigation and construction contracts. Key Responsibilities: Litigation Management: Handle all litigation matters involving the company, including disputes with clients, subcontractors, and other parties. Contract Review and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations, including construction and environmental regulations. Legal Advice: Provide legal advice to senior management and other departments on various legal issues. Policy Development: Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices. Training: Conduct training sessions for staff on legal issues related to construction and contract management. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in California. Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction law, preferably with experience representing or working for contractors. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
