Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Compliance and Quality Services, the Infomatics & Education Nurse
is responsible for assisting with development, implementation, and training for clinical software programs.
In coordination with the agency and the Director of Compliance and Quality Services plans and organizes
all aspects of clinical education/orientation for both Home Health and Hospice.
CORE PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Establishes and maintains current working knowledge of all relevant software applications.
2. As directed, coordinates all software updates reviewing Release Notes, testis software updates for clinical
compliance, schedules live data updates, prepares training, and coordinates with the agency leadership.
3. Is responsible for clinical orientation program and the educational needs of Home Health and Hospice.
4. Under the direction of the Director of Compliance and Quality Services the Infomatics & Education Nurse will assist
with clinical staff education for improving quality measures, patient outcomes, process measures and patient
satisfaction surveys, for both agencies.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
1. In conjunction with the Director of Compliance and Quality Services, the Infomatics & Education Nurse plans,
organizes, and coordinates all aspects of clinical education at each location and ensures adjunct education support
to staff and patients/families/referral sources/public through collaborative outreach, distribution, communication,
or presentation.
2. In conjunction with Wilshire 101 Orientation, the Infomatics & Education Nurse assists in developing agency
discipline orientation for standardization, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
3. Responsible for orientation at Home Health and Hospice, which includes; development of materials, schedules
with clinician Managers, hands-on teaching, competencies and other areas as directed.
4. Ensures the development of educational programs that are in compliant with State, Federal, local laws, rules, and
regulations and are congruent with organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing related field preferred, not required.
• RN or LNV California License
• Demonstrated knowledge of regulations governing Home Health and Hospice.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronic health information management practices and standards.
• CPR Instructor Certification preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical work experience (includes teaching, application of clinical quality improvement
and principles).
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with Wilshire Health & Community Services (WHCS) staff
and have excellent verbal and written skills and be able to clearly anticipate ideas with poise and professionalism.
• Must demonstrate ability to work independently and to analyze, synthesize, and organize information/data, and
provide accurate and timely reports.
• Attentive to details
• Must possess HIS and OASIS experience.
• Netsmart software experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and software proficiently.
• Possesses knowledge of self-care practices including a balanced health style
Position is Mon- Fri Primarily 8am -5pm
