Job Type Full-time Description We are looking for an EDI Specialist at Black Diamond Equipment who is responsible for managing and optimizing the electronic data interchange (EDI) processes within the organization. This role involves configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting EDI transactions and ensuring seamless communication with trading partners. The EDI Specialist will be the main contact for EDI processes, managing the daily flow of EDI documents, troubleshooting issues, and integrating EDI solutions to support the business's operational needs. This includes EDI mapping, creation, and modification. The role requires technical skills with ERP systems, Value-Added Networks (such as SPS Commerce or LENS/OpenText), and SQL to ensure efficient and effective EDI processes. Key Responsibilities EDI Management and Operations: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of EDI systems and processes. Ensure accurate and timely exchange of business documents (e.g., purchase orders, invoices) with trading partners. Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues and errors. Support daily EDI operations, identifying and resolving technical issues with transactions (purchase orders, confirmations, invoices, and ship notices, etc.). Business Process Improvement and Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to understand business needs and requirements. Analyze business processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Maintain and enhance in-house systems, ensuring they are up to date with the latest technology. Work with EDI partners to improve efficiency. Vendor and Customer Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding of new customers and vendors. Manage external and internal testing to ensure smooth integration. Work with EDI service providers to ensure correct vendor specification mapping within the ERP system. Data Validation and Document Design: Review electronic data from vendor partners to ensure accuracy and perform necessary validations. Lead the effort in designing, testing, and implementing new transmission documents. Ensure all documents align with existing workflows and meet trading partner specifications. Create, modify, and maintain EDI mapping to support evolving business needs and ensure seamless integration with trading partners. Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to internal teams and trading partners on EDI systems and processes. Develop user guides and training materials focused on processing and troubleshooting new or updated EDI processes and workflows. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains in compliance with industry standards. Requirements Qualifications Experience: Proven experience as an EDI Specialist or similar role, with a t least 1-2 years focusing on EDI transmissions and related processes. Strong understanding of EDI standards and protocols. Experience with ERP and WMS systems related to order processing. Technical Skills: Proficiency in EDI mapping and translation tools. Familiarity with various EDI communication methods (e.g., AS2, FTP, SFTP, VAN). Knowledge of ERP systems and integration with EDI processes. Experience with Value-Added Networks such as SPS Commerce or LENS/OpenText. Proficient in reading and modifying SQL. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Soft Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making. Ability to gather and consolidate information from multiple sources. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic, evolving corporate environment. This position is based in Utah and offers a hybrid remote arrangement of three days in office and two optional work from home We are open to fully remote in the following states: CA, CO, MT, NH. NM.
