**Description**
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
* Satisfy the transportation needs of vehicle purchasers.
* Approach, greet, help provide direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
* Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses. Suggest alternative vehicles if necessary.
* Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of changes in product technology, incoming inventory, features, accessories etc.
* Provide thorough product information and demonstration to all prospects.
* Offer test drives to all prospects. Follow dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer before test drive begins.
* Utilize dealership sales control and follow-up system.
* Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
* Know and understand equity and values and can explain depreciation to the customer.
* Ensure the dealership sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
* Turns 100 percent of closed deals to finance manager and presents properly completed paperwork (i.e., insurance information, trade title etc.).
* Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery (i.e., cleans vehicles, fills gas tank, and ensures all features are operational) prior to customer arrival.
* Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
* Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
* Schedule first service appointment.
* Follow up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, we-owes, and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.
* Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
* Maintain a prospect development and follow-up system.
* Work with the service department and body shop to ensure that vehicles are properly reconditioned on schedule.
* Attend sales meetings.
* Help with the vehicle inspection process.
* Help to keep the vehicle department neat and clean.
* Write complete sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
* Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.
* Other tasks as assigned.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:**
* Strong business maturity, professionalism, interpersonal, management leadership, analytical, and relationship building skills.
* Skilled and experienced in communications processes and tools. Articulate, with strong skills in written and oral communication.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

* Knows and understands the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:**
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* State-specific Motor Vehicle Salesperson License
* A strong background in business, mathematics and computers
* Experience in other dealership departments is a plus.
* Valid Drivers License
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
* Walking, standing, sitting, listening, and talking on a wide variety and continual basis
* Movement generally throughout the facility areas required on a continual basis
* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
* Ability to stand for long periods of time
* Able to operate motor vehicles to meet possible travel requirement
