OVERVIEW

A local development organization is seeking a Community Development Planner to assist with various affordable housing projects in the Greenville area. This person will help with planning, directing and coordinating local community development programs including overseeing HUD compliance. This is a direct hire position and requires experience in planning as well as experience with HUD programs.

Description

• Develops and provides oversight for completion of various long term community plans and implements various projects related to community development
• Attends hearings and collaborates with local government officials and community partners to develop idea for redevelopment
• Provides regular project updates via reports and presentations
• Develops and adheres to program budget and ensures effective management of funds; finds and completes applications for funding via multiple sources
• Gathers information and tracks metrics to support existing funding activities
• Seeks new opportunities for new grant proposals related to affordable housing
• Supervises direct reports and monitors the effectiveness and results of programs within areas of responsibility and adjust where needed
• Ensures compliance with government, HUD, and grant guidelines
• Assists with the procurement of professional service vendors and contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration preferred but equivalent experience will be considered instead
• Minimum of 2 years in Planning/Urban Planning or Public Administration + Community Development (zoning, site planning, funding, etc.)
• Experience in HUD programs and compliance
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Able to work fully in office down M-F from 8-5

Compensation/Benefits

• Up to $85k
