Job Description

As a Color Technologist , you will prepare color samples for evaluation and formulation to support our Aerospace team. You will report directly to the Color Engineering Team Leader in Mojave California. Primary responsibilities will include mixing wet paint, spraying paint samples, testing and adjusting color samples, and learning the methodology and art of color formulation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform formulations of new colors in different topcoat products
• Apply knowledge of chemistry, mathematical calculations and color science to develop products with direction from supervisor
• Set up and operates electronic, mechanical or hand operated laboratory equipment to use knowledge of coatings techniques (equipment, batch making, paint application)
• Observes, records, investigates, duplicates and validates successful procedures
• Perform calculations and assessments to convert laboratory scale formula to large-scale for manufacturing
• Participate in lab's 6S activities and follows Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in an equivalent field
• Three (3) years experience in laboratory work and be able to optimally read, understand and modify color formulae; and, knowledge of color measurement technology preferred
• Must pass a color blindness test
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Salary Range: $66,560 to $70,000 depending on experience
