The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) startup will oversee financial operations, strategic planning, and performance management. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will lead financial strategy, decision-making, and growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CPG and DTC sectors, financial modeling, cost management, supply chain finance, investor relations, and fundraising.

Must have CFO experience AND CPG and DTC experience.

Our sales channels include our website and Amazon.com. Located in Scottsdale, AZ, this is a hybrid role requiring at least 15 days in the office per month.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support medium-term strategic goals.
• Partner with executive leadership to drive financial initiatives aligned with growth strategies, including market expansion and M&A, working closely with the majority PE investor.
• Maintain financial models considering volume, pricing, and COGS to ensure profitability.
• Manage capital structure, debt, and equity to support expansion.
• Oversee cash flow, balance sheet, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
• Present financial insights to the board and shareholders clearly and effectively.

• Cost & Margin Management

• Implement cost control measures across operations, collaborating with supply chain teams to optimize sourcing and production efficiencies.

• Cash Flow & Capital Allocation

• Manage working capital, optimize cash flow, and oversee debt obligations.

• Financial Operations & Systems

• Streamline financial processes and controls, and implement risk management frameworks to mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Based in Scottsdale, AZ; hybrid work model.
• Must have held a CFO role with startup experience.
• Experience in CPG and DTC industries preferred.
• Strong background in investor relations, capital raising, and financial modeling.
• 15+ years of finance experience; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
