Job Description: Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Pro)

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper with extensive experience in QuickBooks Pro to join our dedicated team at a thriving faith-based nonprofit organization in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting our mission-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries using QuickBooks Pro.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring expenses against budget allocations.
Process payroll and maintain employee records related to compensation and benefits.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Support audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience (3+ years) as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a nonprofit or faith-based organization.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro and advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
