Job Description
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive General Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the automotive industry, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers. You will be responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on a wide range of vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic automotive issues using specialized equipment and tools.
- Assist in the repair and replacement of brakes, belts, batteries, and other essential vehicle components.
- Perform minor auto body work, including patching minor dents and scratches.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing information about services performed and recommendations for additional maintenance or repairs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in automotive technology, and relevant safety standards.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an automotive technical program preferred.
- Previous experience as an automotive technician or mechanic is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic equipment, and repair tools.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- ASE certification is a plus.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, including tires and automotive components.
- Standing for extended periods, kneeling, bending, and working in confined spaces may be required.
